Antioch, TN – Friends of Mill Ridge Park announces the Kite Fest at Mill Ridge Park. On each Saturdays during April, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., Friends of Mill Ridge Park will host a free, family-friendly outdoor experience. While supplies last, they will offer free kites, kite flying tutorials, picnic snacks and blankets, and park gear. The event will be held at Mill Ridge Park, located at 12965 Old Hickory Boulevard, Antioch, 37013. Personal protective equipment and ample outdoor space will be available.

To adhere to safety regulations from the Metro Public Health Department for Nashville and Davidson County, social distances of six feet will be required between people from separate households; face masks will be required where six feet of social distance cannot be maintained. People recently testing positive for COVID19, displaying symptoms of COVID19, or experiencing proximity with someone testing positive for or displaying symptoms of COVID19 are asked to avoid this event.

Mill Ridge Park is a forthcoming Metro Nashville regional park, located in southeast Davidson County, consisting of more than 600 acres of forests, grasslands, and farmland. In 2017, Metro Parks publicized the park master plan which can be found online.

Friends of Mill Ridge Park is an Antioch-based nonprofit and official partner of the Metropolitan Nashville Department of Parks & Recreation with a mission to enhance and advocate for Mill Ridge Park to strengthen the community in southeast Davidson County. They offer healthy outdoor education, recreation, and conservation activities to a community historically lacking sufficient access to greenspace and outdoor services.
