REPORTS TO: Sr. Director of Education Outreach

The Manager of Education and Community Engagement builds and maintains sustainable theatre opportunities for Middle Tennessee through Disney Musicals in Schools (DMIS) and engages the community by creating opportunities and events that cultivate partnerships with arts organizations, teaching artists, and community members. This position works with Education staff to achieve departmental goals through collaboration, content development, leadership, and management of Education programs and events.

  • Contributes to planning, implementation, management and assessment of Disney Musicals in Schools including:
    1. DMIS application process; selection committee member  
    2. residency assignments and liaison with teaching artists and school teams
    3. coordination of:  schools orientation, teacher and teaching artist professional development (PD) workshops and Student Share Celebration
    4. developing content and leading sessions for artist and educator PD workshops
    5. oversees and maintains teaching artist compensation processes and record-keeping
    6. reviewing performance licenses  for Disney submission and school reimbursements
  • Contributes to planning, implementation, management, and oversight of InsideOut and Community Engagement programs including: 
    • developing schedules and content for Theatre Workshops, Lunch Boxes, InsideBroadway Workshops, LookIns, and other community events 
    • logistical planning/event management for InsideOut and Community engagement events
    • Create, administer, and collect program surveys and evaluations. coordinating volunteers for events including LookIns, Lunch Boxes, workshops and 
      1. Manages aspects of planning, logistics and oversight of other Education programs, as needed.
      2. Works with Marketing to create, administer, and evaluate email marketing campaigns for DMIS and InsideOut. 
      3. Works with others throughout the organization to implement and exemplify policies as part of TPAC’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, access, and equity.
      4. Inspires a collaborative work environment that motivates staff and cultivates productive relationships within the education team and throughout the organization. other community engagement events


  • Required: Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University and two to five years of related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Education, arts, production and events background. Ability to collaborate with colleagues, business partners, and community members. Strong organizational and financial skills. Excellent verbal and written communication. Innovation, creative direction, and abilities to work independently and with a team. Passion for the performing arts and a belief in the importance of arts education and arts access.
  • Preferred: The ability to motiviate and work with teaching artists and educators. Data gathering and reporting. Public speaking. 
  • Encouraged: Bilingual capability.
