Assists members with financial transactions both in person and over the phone, opening and closing accounts, answers questions about products and services, researches records, and resolves problems that are within their authority to resolve. Coordinates resolution of problems that are beyond their authority with their supervisor.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Receives and processes member financial transactions, including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals and loan payments; sells money orders, pre paid debit cards, visa gift cards, and other products to members; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed
  • Cross sells credit union services
  • Welcomes members and provides routine information concerning services and directs members to appropriate department for specific information and service
  • Balances cash drawer and daily transactions
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • To provide friendly, professional, accurate service and support to all members and associates within and outside the department
  • To balance at least 98% of the time, with total outages not to exceed $100 in a calendar quarter
  • To exercise good judgment in following all procedures and appropriate business practices to minimize losses
  • To maintain at least a 95% transaction ratio (The number of transactions performed each month must be equal to or greater than 95% of the average number of transactions performed per teller at assigned branch)
  • To have no more than one posting error per quarter
  • To complete assigned training


Knowledge and Skills:
  • Minimum six months cash handling experience
  • Minimum one year sales and customer service experience
  • A high school education or GED
  • Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job
  • Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion
  • Ten key calculator and computer keyboard by touch
  • Must be good with detail to deal with numbers and names
