Born and raised in Costa Rica, Carol Seals moved to Tennessee at age 23. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Management and Human Relations from Trevecca University and an Executive Leadership Certificate from Belmont University. She is currently working on her Project Management Certificate. Since her move to Tennessee, Carol has worked in marketing, business, real estate, and nonprofit management. Most recently, Carol served as the program director of YMCA Latino Achievers, a college readiness program for Latino youth in Nashville.


In addition to her work, Carol has a passion for volunteering and community engagement. She has received several awards recognizing her commitment to service: the Sumner County Literacy Program’s “Volunteer of the Month Award,” “Service to the Latino Community in Middle TN” from the Bethel Community Church, and the “Orgullo Hispano Award” (Hispanic Pride Award) from Conexion Americas. Additionally, Carol has served on the Community Advisory Committee for the Frist Center for Visual Arts and has been part of the Tennessee Performing Arts Review Crew. In recognition of Carol’s contributions to the program and her work towards community engagement, the YMCA Latino Achievers program has named its volunteer of the year award after her. Carol continues to serve on several boards including the Tennessee Latin American Chamber, FUTURO (a professionalization program for Latino college students), and YMCA Latino Achievers.
